STEM Education

A group of year 9 students represented De La Salle at a STEM event at Cronton College, they took part in the following:

  • Exploring how drones are used in a variety of applications where the use of traditional surveys would be time consuming, risky or prohibitive from an access point of view.
  • Why we use of magnets to cause a train to brake, with the applied use of Maths to work out the correct calculations.
  • The use of Virtual Reality to train people to work in different engineering sectors.
  • How to take a 3D drawing and convert it into a file that can be 3D printed.

We were delighted with our excellent students attitude, ideas and creativity, well done.
