School Gardening Club

During the summer term, students continued looking after the plants on the rooftop garden. A lot of vegetables, such as potatoes, cucumbers, cauliflowers, carrots, tomatoes and peas were grown. These were taken home by students and a few staff.

For these efforts we have been awarded Level 3 in the RHS School Gardening Awards. A company called Rocket Gardens will deliver to school a series of three boxes, brimming with vegetable and fruit plug plants, over the next three terms. This prize is worth £150.

Those tomatoes which did not ripen have been turned into chutney, which is being sold to buy more seeds and equipment for use next year.
