What a carry on!

A tradition was started in the last week of term before Christmas when a group of staff created the first Christmas pantomime at De La Salle. Much to the delight, embarrassment and disbelief of staff and pupils. The staff performed five times in the day to all of the year groups as an early Christmas present.

Shriek, the Christmas musical, saw Mr Ross, Mr G Fletcher and Mr Foy as the three ugly sisters and a fine performance they gave. The effervescent and ethereal Mrs Wellens played the Princess to great success and her performance was voted the best of the day. Obviously, Ms Flaherty played the wicked witch, and Mr A Fletcher the beast who transforms into the Prince. Mrs Bahan and Mr O’Callaghan played dashing, handsome Princes and Mrs De’ath played the King. There was a guest performance from Mrs Swaby as Lady Muck while Mr Leggett played the wickeder witch. Mrs Mulhall multi tasked by playing the maid and the mirror on the wall. Finally, our Head teacher, Mr Rannard played the role of the narrator.

The performance was directed by Mrs Skinner and she did it with the aplomb of a seasoned professional. The lighting and music was expertly crafted by Mr Millea and Eric McKenna Y9.
