Mathematics with Computing
The mathematics with computing learning area recognises that pupils need to be fully prepared for the technological advances rapidly taking place in society, and that both maths and computing have an extremely important role to play in this preparation.
These subjects are central to our understanding of the world, underpinning science, technology, medicine and engineering.
Mathematics and computing are taught as discrete subjects, with computing and IT offered as GCSE option choices.
The learning area aims to:
- Empower pupils via a curriculum which challenges and stretches each individual
- Enable pupils to leave De La Salle with the confidence to engage meaningfully in future learning and employment
- Equip pupils with skills which enhance not only their job prospects but also their daily lives
- Encourage and support pupils to seek further engagement in these subjects beyond the classroom
